APC and Optimisation

We have worked through the past 20 years of advanced process control evolution. Our latest approach to APC and optimisation gives our customers the highest possible benefit while being robust and easy to maintain. All our solutions are unique to Dynaproc.   

Recommended technologies:

We implement our approach on most commonly used multivariable control and optimisation systems. However for enhanced applications we are certified to implement the latest and unique multivariable control and dynamic optimisation technologies (D-RTO), those are:

ADMC, Adaptive Dynamic Matrix Controller

GDOT, Generic Dynamic Optimisation Technology

GDOT is able to optimise a more complex non-linear (adaptive) problem over multiple units by coordinating MPCs such as DMCplus, RMPCT and ADMC. GDOT can be used for refining, petrochemicals and large Oil and Gas sites. Our most extensive reference installation to date is covering 5 process units and consist of 200 MVs and 400 CVs. This system dynamically coordinates 10 DMCplus controllers. We have also done other GDOT installations coordinating RMPCT controllers. GDOT has replaced several traditional style systems with poor performance. So if you need the most modern closed loop optimisation solution then no need to look further, guaranteed!


Refining:

Dynaproc Ltd offers a wide range of control services depending on your requirements and benefit opportunities. Refineries will benefit from our multivariable control approach for all process units using ADMC, DMCplus, RMPCT etc.

Dynaproc’s world leading D-RTO solutions using GDOT can be used in many different areas of a refinery such as optimising multi unit operation including Naphtha complex, CDU/middle distillate and cracking complex to mention a few. Hydrogen balance and fuel gas optimisation is also straight forward to achieve by a GDOT model either in closed or open loop.  Smaller optimization problems such as parallel heat exchanger operation result in less energy consumption can also be set up by using first principal heat balance equations in GDOT.

Oil & Gas:

Dynaproc ltd offers several fast executing production control and dynamic optimisation modules that will be tuned to your requirements. Benefit with our approach comes mainly from a more consistent operation, reduced energy consumption, and better optimised control of product quantity and quality. Depending on your asset configuration and process issues we offer you a selection of ADMC control functions that will suit your needs. As an example Dynaproc’s advanced control approach can be used for oil and gas in the following areas:

  • Oil and Gas terminals using ADMC control and GDOT optimisation. 
  • ADMC topside multivariable production control managing disturbance rejections from slug flow and turbo machinery constraints. 
  • LNG plants multivariable control and GDOT optimisation.

Petrochemicals:

In addition to multivariable control of petrochemical processes we offer a large scale dynamic optimisation for processes such as olefin crackers using GDOT. This system will out performing traditional steady state RTO systems and at the same time is dynamically capable of coordinating the MPCs. GDOT minute by minute first principal optimisation result in superior performance to a lot less maintenance demand and at the same time to a lower cost!
